Mi Salmo 11: "La Necesidad de una Creación"
1 Como el árbol levanta sus ramas
1 Como el árbol levanta sus ramas
Y cada hoja anhela la luz
2 Del sol que le ha sido dado
Por sustento y guía, día tras día,
3 Así, oh Dios, nosotros Tus hijos
Alzamos nuestras manos a Ti
4 En la vigilia de esta noche
Esperando ver la gloria de Tu luz
5 El resplandor, que es Jesús,
Que se deja ver en el horizonte,
6 A quien esperamos con la fuerza
Que Tú nos has dado hasta hoy.
7 Tú eres nuestro sustento
Y Tú nos das la provisión
8 De día en día, Tú eres Dios,
Y he aquí no hay sol como Tú
9 Pues se humilla toda estrella
Ante el resplandor de Tu gloria
10 Y saltan los collados
Ante los pasos del Señor.
11 Oh Torre fuerte, oh Santo,
A Ti clamamos, Poderoso,
12 Tuyos el bien y el alimento,
El perdón y la Palabra de vida;
14 A Ti te honramos, bendito Dios,
Te necesitamos, oh Señor.

My Psalm 11: "A Creation's Need"
1 As the tree raises his branches
And every leaf longs for the light
2 Of the sun given to it
As sustenance and guide, day after day,
3 So, oh God, do we Your children
Raise our hands to You
4 In the watch of this night
Hoping to see the glory of Your light
5 The radiance, who is Jesus,
That emerges on the horizon,
6 Whom we await with the strength
You have given us to this day.
7 You are our sustenance
And You give us supply
8 Day after day, You are God
And behold, there is no sun like You
9 For all stars humble themselves
Before the radiance of Your glory
10 And the hills jump
Before the steps of the Lord.
11 Oh Strong tower, oh Holy,
To You we cry, Mighty One,
12 Yours are goodness and nourishment,
Forgiveness and the Word of life;
13 It is You we honor, blessed God,
You are who we need, oh Lord.

This would be my eleventh psalm, which I wrote at college one of these days; it is sort of based on the (start of) Psalm 42, and simply stating our NEED of God, acknowledged or not; everywhere in the Bible it is stated that He is not only the Creator of all, but that He is also the Sustainer, i.e. who made it all, put it all together, and keeps it together (like it was said in a song, "He's got the whole world in His hands"). Hence the emphasis here on His name as GOD, like the Hebrew "Elohim" of the Old Testament, which was mostly used of Him as Creator and referring to His power... (As contrasted to His name YHWH, or the LORD, where His position as Covenant-God, Savior, Redeemer, etc., was emphasized.)

Éste sería mi undécimo salmo, que escribí en la universidad uno de estos días; está más o menos basado en el (inicio del) Salmo 42, y simplemente dice nuestra NECESIDAD de Dios, reconocida o no; en todas partes en la Biblia se dice que Él no es sólo el Creador de todo, sino que también es el Sustentador, es decir el que lo hizo todo, lo armó todo, y lo mantiene armado (como una canción decía, "Él tiene al mundo entero en Sus manos"). Por eso el énfasis aquí en Su nombre como DIOS, como el hebreo "Elohim" del Antiguo Testamento, que se usaba mayormente para Dios como Creador y refiríendose a Su poder... (En contraste con Su nombre YHVH o Jehová, donde Su posición como Dios del pacto, Salvador, Redentor, etc., era enfatizado.)
