Strong Tower / Torre Fuerte

Proverbs 18:10. “The name of the LORD is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.”

Psalms 61:3. “For You have been a refuge for me, a tower of strength against the enemy.”

This drawing seeks to display this truth. The name of God, which represents God Himself, is like a mighty tower in which we take refuge; so I drew the tower with the Hebrew characters for YHVH (God’s name as shown in the Old Testament), and myself, or anyone else, running towards it for deliverance. I showed God's offer of deliverance in the blood of the Lamb on the doorposts and lintel of the tower's entrance, as was done for the Passover in the Exodus; this blood represents Jesus Christ's atoning sacrifice in the cross, and God's main display of love.

I also put simple drawings all over the tower, about the stories of different people from all over the Bible, including Abraham, Israel, Moses, Joshua, Ruth, David, Esther, Daniel, Mary, Jesus (of course), Paul, and more. With this, I imagine the tower as bearing witness of God’s love and mercy, forever expressed in the work of Jesus Christ but also present in all of God’s deeds, and His faithfulness towards those who display faith towards Him in their lives and deeds (similar to the contents of Hebrews chapter 11), therefore showing His character, and hence, His name.

Proverbios 18:10. “Torre fuerte es el nombre de Jehová; a Él correrá el justo, y será levantado.”

Salmos 61:3. “Porque  Tú has sido mi refugio, y torre fuerte delante del enemigo.”

Este dibujo busca mostrar esta verdad. El nombre de Dios, que representa a Dios mismo, es como una torre fuerte en la cual tomamos refugio; así que dibujé la torre con los caracteres en hebreo de YHVH (Jehová, el nombre de Dios como lo muestra el Antiguo Testamento), y a mí mismo, o cualquier otra persona, corriendo hacia la torre para ser librado. Mostré el ofrecimiento de liberación que Dios da en la sangre del Cordero en los postes y marco de la entrada de la torre, como se hizo para la Pascua en el Éxodo; esta sangre representa el sacrificio expiatorio de Jesucristo en la cruz, y la muestra principal del amor de Dios.

También puse dibujos simples en toda la torre, sobre las historias de distintas personas de toda la Biblia, incluyendo a Abraham, Israel, Moisés, Josué, Rut, David, Ester, Daniel, María, Jesús (por supuesto), Pablo, y más. Con esto imagino a la torre como dando testimonio del amor y misericordia de Dios, para siempre expresados en la obra de Jesucristo pero siempre presentes en todas las obras de Dios, y Su fidelidad hacia aquellos que muestran fe hacia Él en sus vidas y obras (similar a los contenidos de Hebreos capítulo 11), en consecuencia mostrando Su carácter, y por consiguiente, Su nombre.
